Configure system behavior
- Open a browser and navigate to the IP address of your Icon.
NOTE: This can be found on your Phone HD by tapping Start > System. - Select the System Behavior tab and set the following:
| Allow other systems to move my camera | Enables the ability for far-end participants to move the local camera. The default setting is enabled. |
| Allow other systems to control camera presets | Enables the ability for far-end participants to select local camera preset positions. The default is enabled. |
| Auto-answer Incoming Calls | Enables incoming calls to be automatically answered. If disabled, you must manually answer or ignore incoming calls. By default, you must manually answer or ignore incoming calls. |
| Mute on Auto-answer | Enable to have the system mute the local microphone when answering a call automatically. Only available when Auto-answer Incoming calls is enabled. |
| Presentations Start Automatically | If you connect a laptop to a video input on the system, a presentation starts automatically. The default is enabled. |
| Set the Audio Input | Select the audio (microphone) input source. |
| Line In Gain | Select the line input gain level from the following options: – Line level – Microphone level – Microphone with boost NOTE: Only available/visible when Audio Input is set to Line In. |
| Set the Audio Output | Specifies the location for audio output during video calls |
| Audio Integrator Mode | System integrators can use this mode to enable audio line-in and audio line-out with the internal system acoustic echo cancellation (AEC) turned off. NOTE: When Audio Integrator Mode is enabled, an external Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC) device is required. |
| Anti-flicker 50Hz | Lights powered by a 50 Hz power source can produce a flicker that the camera captures and transmits to the system. If you are using lights powered by a 50 Hz power source and observe a flicker in the video, set Anti-Flicker to 50 Hz. The default value is Auto. NOTE: The value you choose for this preference applies to all cameras connected to the system. |
| Maximum Call Transmit Bandwidth | Select the maximum total call transmit bandwidth, including video, audio, and presentation streams. The default is 6144 Kb/s. |
| Ignore Incoming Calls | Enable to block/reject all incoming calls to the system. The default is disabled. |
| Prefer SIP for Voice Calls | Activate this option to route voice calls via a local (SIP) VoIP PBX. See VoIP tab above. |
| Enable Wireless Presentation | Enable Wireless presentation to allow users to share their computer screen, an application window, or a browser tab via the network. |
| Show Advanced Audio Settings | Enables the displays of advanced audio controls on the Phone HD system menu. |

Dual Display Mode (Lifesize Icon 500 and 700 only)
When you connect a second display to your system, you can select a display mode, and your system automatically configures the second display. Depending on the mode, your two displays function differently while in a video call and outside of a video call.

NOTE:
- If your system was previously configured for Self-View PIP Mode, your system retains its current settings until you change modes to one of the two modes above.
- CLISH commands can be used to always show the camera view on Display 1 in Self-View Mode when not in a call.
- Your local camera can always be shown temporarily on Display 1 by pressing the Camera button on Lifesize Phone HD.
Multi-Application Room Solution (MARS) mode
The MARS mode feature allows system administrators and room system integrators, configure their Lifesize Icon system for use as part of a Multi-Application Room Solution. This capability forces the system into a behaviour specifically for the MARS use case, whereby the Icon system will automatically establish a link with the MARS host computer, if it can see the required USB, HDMI cable and/or network interconnections.
The MARS mode system state is persistent, so in the unlikely event that a user unplugs a cable, the system will show an on-screen error warning and suggest corrective action (such as reconnecting the cables). Following successful reconnection, the system will automatically revert to MARS mode without further user interaction. In similar cases where the MARS host computer installs updates, is powered off or restarted, or the Icon system itself runs an update or is rebooted, the system will automatically switch to MARS mode when connectivity is restored between the devices.
This automated re-establishment of MARS mode is intended to ensure the camera, microphone, speakers and display are always available to the MARS host computer, with little or no interaction from the user.

Advanced Audio Configuration
System administrators can adjust the advanced audio system parameters to cater for bespoke meeting rooms, training/class rooms, or auditoriums which often have rows of chairs and a lectern, and where the installation of third-party ceiling and/or hand-held microphones with an external DSP (Digital Signal Processor) to handle the audio is required. Often in these applications, local sound reinforcement is used whereby the local audio is amplified within the room for the local audience. In these cases it is highly recommended to use an external audio DSP to correctly handle the audio echo cancellation (AEC), automatic gain control (AGC) and required volume levels.
The options available to system administrators and/or AV installers to reconfigure the system for these use cases are as follows:
- Set the Audio Input – Allows the selection of the preferred microphone input source. Valid options are Phone HD, Micpod, USB 1, USB 2, and Line In.
- Line In Gain – Allows administrators to select the analogue audio input gain. Valid options are Line Level, Mic Level, or Mic with Boost.
NOTE: Only available when Line In is the selected audio input source. - Audio Integrator Mode – Enabling this option reconfigures the system for use with an external audio solution

- Audio Processing = Use External DSP (Internal AEC and AGC are disabled)
- Line In Gain – Allows administrators to select the analogue audio input gain. Valid options are Line Level, Mic Level, or Mic with Boost.
- Set the Audio Output – Allows the selection of the audio output. Valid options are Line Out, Phone HD, USB 1, USB 2, or HDMI Out.
Additional system audio controls are available via CLISH.
