Phone HD – Basic Functions
Make a call
Tap the Call button then scroll across to Keypad to dial a number. Select Video to make a video call (the default) or select Voice to make a telephone call.
From the Directory:
- From the Home Screen, tap the Call icon.
- Tap the Directory icon.
- Select the person to call.
- Select Dial as Video or Dial as Voice.
From your Favorites:
- From the Home Screen, tap the Call icon.
- Tap the Favorites icon.
- Select the person to call.
- Select Dial as Video or Dial as Voice.
From the Meetings directory:
- From the Home Screen, tap the Call icon.
- Tap the Meetings icon.
- Select the meeting you want to join.
- Select Dial as Video.
From the Calendar:
- From the Home Screen, tap the Call icon.
- Tap the Calendar icon.
- Tap the current calendar entry to join the scheduled meeting over video.
NOTE: You can only tap to join a meeting from within the Calendar if it is within the scheduled meeting’s time period and the invite contains a valid meeting invite URL for Lifesize or a supported third-party meeting service.
End a call
Tap the End icon. Depending on the specific meeting, you may be prompted to simply leave the meeting or end the meeting for all parties.
Adjust volume
While in a call, tap the Volume icon. Adjust volume with the slider.
To adjust the volume before starting a call, tap the Start or > icon on the Home Screen to access the Volume icon.
Mute audio
While in a call, tap the Mute Audio icon.
The lights on Lifesize Phone HD turn red when audio is muted and blue when unmuted or open.
Mute video (video privacy)
When in a call, tap the Mute Video icon. This stops the transmission of the local camera to the far-end and places a simple avatar where your video would normally show.
NOTE: The Mute Video option only stops sending the video, the transmission of audio is controlled separately.
Move the camera
While in a call, swipe left on the Phone HD touch-screen and tap the Camera icon.
If you want to move the camera before you make a call, tap the Camera icon on the Home Screen.
Reposition/zoom camera using the controls.
You can save a preset by pressing and holding a number in the Presets bar. Or to simply recall a preset, tap the number and the camera automatically moves to the predefined position. Tap the Home (or house) icon to return the camera to its home position, which is 0° pan, 0° tilt, and 0% zoom.
Enable/Disable Do Not Disturb
While in a call, tap the More icon, then tap the Do Not Disturb icon.
Record a call
While in a call, tap the Record icon.
If prompted, select the person who should be the owner of the recording.
NOTE: If you are calling into a meeting, the owner of the meeting is the owner of the recording. This includes dialing into a Lifesize meeting hosted by another organization.
NOTE: The optional Lifesize Record and Share feature must be enabled by your Lifesize administrator to allow call recording.
Raise hand
While in a call, tap the Raise Hand icon to indicate to the meeting organizer or moderator that you have a question or comment to be addressed. The button will indicate that “Your hand is raised”. The meeting organizer or moderator can lower your hand once your query has been addressed, or you can tap Lower Hand to lower your hand.
NOTE: Room systems are meeting participants. For advanced meeting moderation, use the Lifesize app.
